🌿 About the exhibition
Isabel Servera, a Mallorcan visual artist based in Barcelona, presents AlenadesThis project revives the traditional palm weaving techniques of the Llevant region of Mallorca. Through installation and sculpture, it explores the relationship between body, matter, and territory, in dialogue with the universe of Miró, folk knowledge, and the Mediterranean landscape.
His pieces create their own habitat in the Miró. They colonize Espai Zero and engage in dialogue both with the omnipresent spirit of Joan Miró and his work and with the space conceived to house his Foundation in Mallorca.
They expand as unique formations, both rocky and vegetal, in a symbiotic relationship that represents the figurative scenery of a cave: a shelter that houses two groups of works, the so-called Vetleria and the Alenades.
