Smack Dab was formed in 2015 with the idea of playing new, original material within the traditional jazz quintet format.

Gotmar Jazz Trio was born from the coming together of musicians Omar Lanuti, Juanan Torrendell and Mario Ramírez.

SANG is the first original-music project by Mallorcan singer and violinist Sinéad Cormican. In it she presents her own songs, where all her cultural influences converge into a distinctive repertoire.
The pieces have jazz as their main genre, but run through with the singer's Mallorcan, Irish and Cádiz roots.
The work came about through Emergeix!, a project of the Portocolom jazz festival A Jazz de Mar that offers the chance to record a unique concert live on the festival stage itself, produced by the Associació Cultural i Musical A Jazz de Mar.

🏛️ A performer to watch
He began playing at six and moved to France in 2022. Winner of several international junior competitions, he graduated with honours and was appointed assistant and official vocal accompanist at the École Normale de Musique de Paris at just nineteen. He appears regularly at festivals and venues such as the Salle Cortot in Paris and La Seine Musicale.

From Robert Schumann, the Arabeske op. 18 and Carnaval op. 9, one of romanticism's great character suites. From Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, The Seasons op. 37, twelve miniatures that walk through the year month by month.
Two different ways of telling time: Schumann's masks and games against Tchaikovsky's intimate calendar.
🏛️ A recent and forceful record
Ranaldi began playing at four. Last season he performed Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 at Teatro La Fenice in Venice and Beethoven's Concerto No. 1 at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa.
In 2025 he won first prize at the Piano Euregio Award in Germany, at the Rovere d'Oro and at the Tadini Competition, and was a semifinalist at the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition in Belgium. He trained at the Milan and Pavia conservatories, in both cases with highest honours and honourable mention.

The recital sets father against son. From Johann Sebastian Bach: the Fuga canonica in Epidiapente from The Musical Offering BWV 1079, the Sonata in G major BWV 1022 and the Ricercar a 3 from the same Offering.
From Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach: the Sonata in D minor, the Sonata in C major Wq. 149 and the Sonata in C minor, a reworking drawn from his father's Musical Offering.
In between, Michael Nyman's Taking it as read (2016), a piece dedicated to Mercelli and Bahrami themselves.

The Juan Cencillo Auditorium, in the heart of Palma's old town, is one of the city's finest chamber halls: close acoustics and a contained capacity for a repertoire that asks for exactly that.

📖 The programme
Works by Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Brahms, Turina, Silvestrov, Debussy and Granados: a path from the baroque to the contemporary minimalism of Valentin Silvestrov, by way of German romanticism and Spanish nationalism.
The selection is not after completeness but after a thread: what connects one piece to the next, and why. Hence the talk-concert format.

The festival's Professional Days are a meeting point for performers, programmers and audiences, with open sessions where music is explained as well as played. Sa Bassa Rotja, in Porreres, is their home.
